Power Plants
ESC has designed the control for the air supply and air temperature control of several modern gas power plants.
Because the aim exists to introduce ever more renewable energy to the electricity grid, and the availability of renewable energy is dependent on weather conditions, there is an increasing need for rapidly available flexible power supply.
Especially winter months show a large decrease in sunshine. Therefore larger gas power plants often are combined with the supply of heating.
ESC has realized efficient fully automated control, read the whitepaper in order to find the relevance of these energy savings
One example is the power plant K.I.E.L. that supplies 190 MW electric and 192 MW thermal power. A project of Kraftanlage München for Stadtwerke Kiel with 20 J920 Jenbacher (GE) gas engines. With Alara-Lukagro, a Dutch steel manufacturer specialized in noise control design.
Another example is the power plant at Dupont Brugge where ESC designed the airflow control for Beauvent
The air supply of Smaller plants is often straightforward. ESC specializes in tailor made costumer solutions that include the optimization of preheaters, air recirculation, the heat distribution in the engine room, different air ducts and variable flow.
The temperature optimization is combined with pressure control. ESC has experience with different strategies for different components in order to realize stable pressure in the engine rooms, including instability from wind conditions.
ESC supplies the control flow schemes that include safety mechanisms, such as filter anti frost, smoke or gas detection, safe operation conditions, cooling after operation and minimum air refreshment.
ESC has strategic partners that enables us to supply turnkey solutions including PLC control cabinets.
